Outdoor concert venues are stuff of legends in Colorado. Right here in Castle Rock there is just such a venue that makes enjoying fantastic music that much more majestic of an experience. If you’ve never experienced a concert at the Amphitheater at Philip S. Miller Park, this summer’s line up of entertainment is the perfect opportunity to check that off your list.
Past performers in the Summer Concert Series include Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Shooter Jennings, Big Head Todd and the Monsters and Thompson Square. This summer’s lineup kicks off with Everclear, with special guest Tonic, on June 15th. With some of the 90’s most iconic alt-rock hits, Everclear hasn’t slowed down a bit, continuing to tour and play their hits that you can’t help but sing along to like, “Father of Mine” and “Santa Monica.” Their 2015 album, “Black is the New Black,” proves that they just keep making great music, no matter the decade!
July 13th is the Castle Rock Summer Jam, an all day event that will be rockin’ from 2-9pm! This year’s lineup include battle of the band winners Solar, John Saunders Band and The Fray.
All you country music fans will want to wrangle tickets to see Clay Walker on Sunday, June 21st, from 6-10pm. After bursting onto the charts over 25 years ago with hits like “What’s It to You” and “Live Until I Die,” Clay Walker went on to record album after album of chart topping hits.
With success spanning decades, The Guess Who, will be performing for what is sure to be a multi-generational audience on August 11th. Through all their incarnations over the past 6 decades, they have found ways to reinvent themselves along the way. Their single, “American Woman,” was originally released in 1969 but which was recorded and rereleased by Lenny Kravitz 30 years later, reintroducing The Guess Who to a whole new generation of fans.
The Summer Concert series closes with a performance by the Denver Pops on Sunday, August 24th. The Denver Pops: A Beatles Tribute Featuring Mike Masse and the Rubber Souls will be the perfect way to end an epic summer of music.
